Terrace design – Paris 16

For this project, we planted onepoint’s terraces located on the top two floors of their new headquarters. Adjoining respectively an event space and an office floor, the terraces were to offer a soothing atmosphere, combining nature and clean design in a wabi-sabi spirit.

We selected plants with graphic trunks and delicate foliage from a deliberately limited plant palette, adding finesse and elegance. The plantings create different heights: high points emerge from the vegetation to draw the eye, while a lower, blurred plant stratum of grasses and compact plants provides a delicate contrast, recalling the harmony of Asian gardens.

The lounge and dining areas have been delineated using planter assemblies that form curved alcoves. These spaces are isolated from each other by tall vegetation, creating havens of tranquility for collaborators.

A burnt-wood panel organically decorates a key area of the terrace, adorning an overly present wall. Its rounded shape recalls the gates of Chinese and Japanese gardens, while at the same time recalling the traditional yakisugi (burnt wood) techniques used in Japan to combine aesthetics and strength.

The terraces offer their occupants spaces where they can meet and relax.

Every detail, from the plants chosen to the materials, has been designed to create a soft, serene and timeless atmosphere.
