Garden Design – Paris 16

It was a rather mineral courtyard. Paved, it runs the full length of the house, and must be crossed to enter the house. Although they didn’t need to protect themselves from the neighborhood and other visitors, our customers wanted to surround themselves with a soft, flowery garden. Only a small area of the courtyard was left unpaved, and our customers wanted to keep their cobblestones as they were. These city-dwellers wanted to be able to have lunch outside on sunny days in a beautiful environment and store their bicycles.une petite zone de la cour était en pleine terre et nos clients souhaitaient conserver leurs pavés en l’état. Ces clients citadins avaient envie à la fois de pouvoir ranger leurs vélos et de déjeuner dehors aux beaux jours dans un bel environnement.

To recreate a garden in this courtyard, the black balustrade separating the courtyard from the street was dressed with matching black planters. The long-lived perennials that occupy them blend gracefully with the bars.

Our customers’ beautiful pots were reused to install the pot garden, giving a little verticality and density to the least-used part of the yard. They visually separate the storage area from the dining area.

The length of the courtyard has enabled us to install a number of different spaces: a bicycle shed, a pot garden surrounding the staircase and a grassy paving for lunch with your feet in the grass.

The bike shed adopts a contemporary style with its parallel slats, and is already blending into the décor alongside a rose bush climbing up its uprights.

The dining area, made of parisian cobblestones with grassy joints, is surrounded by aromatic plants, so you can enjoy your meal surrounded by scents.
